We teamed up with the family bloggers over at Truly Madly Kids on their fantastic ski trip to Whistler. And what better kit to try out than our Helly Hansen Merino Wool Base Layer in White/Magenta and Blue/Green?! Layering up clothing can really help keep you warm – especially when the pace of activity changes dramatically as it so often does when skiing or in fact, sailing. Layers mean that you can take off and add items as you feel the need to. We’ve found that it’s particularly useful for children to be able to control their temperature quickly and efficiently. The important thing with a base layer is that it must breathe (which merino wool does naturally and with ease) and that it mustn’t rub the skin – which is hwere soft, fine wool really comes into it’s own.
You can see that the Truly Madly Kids family loved the soft, comfy layering even before they left for the trip!
Merino wool is breathable and non-abrasive, and comes in cute colourways – certainly something to jump about!
Whilst the idea was always to layer up and keep warm on the slopes, the family soon found that the set also makes a great piece of kit to hang out in wherever….even by the pool (yes a pool on the ski slope!). We’re always happy to see how our carefully chosen kit gets worn. There are no rules to wearing items – it should always be about what works for you and your family. We’ve got a whole range of useful accessories and waterproofs to help make time on the slopes comfy and fun – click HERE for details.
